ABOUT

When and why did you first start performing?

My first memories of singing are me sitting with my grandmother learning little church songs and hymns. Along with the rest of my family, she encouraged me to keep singing every day.

Who are your musical influences?

Growing up, I listened to George Strait, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, The Gaither Vocal Band, Casting Crowns and Michael W. Smith, just to name a few. I'd definitely have to say 90's country is my influence and favorite. I do love some banjo pickin', low country bluegrass or an authentic worship set! Some female influences are Miranda Lambert, Dolly Parton, Jo Dee Messina, Carrie Underwood, Dixie Chicks, Lauren Daigle, and Kristyn Getty.

When did you first learn to play guitar?

Towards to end of high school, I convinced my parents to get me a guitar for Christmas. On Christmas morning, I started to teach myself a few chords.

What was the first tune(s) you learned?

The first tune I learned was "Jesus Loves Me" with my grandmother, as far as singing goes. First song on guitar was Alison Krause "When You Say Nothing at All".

Is your family musical?

Yes. My sister, father and grandfather, and great grandmother all sing. Even though they don't play any instruments, music has always been a big part of my family and an outlet that brings us all together.

Which instruments do you play?

I play piano, guitar, ukulele, and mandolin.

What are your favorite musical memories?

My favorite musical memory I have is singing "Goodbye Earl" by the Dixie Chicks for my family. I was younger at the time and didn't want anyone to watch me sing! So I always stood in the kitchen while they listened in the other room. Moments like that still get brought up to me today.

Have you been in competitions? Any prizes?

I have competed in a pageant, Clay County fair talent competition runner-up 2015/2016, the 2014 Jacksonville Fair where I won the "Take the Stage" Competition, the 2015 Baker County Fair where I won second place in my division and overall, I was a creator in One Spark 2015 and placed top ten in the music category, Jax Idol 2016 top five finalist, News 4 Jax "Oh Say Can You Sing" second place winner 2017 and top 10 finalist 2018, and a finalist from the Suwannee River Jam auditions 2015 and 2016.

Do you get nervous before a performance or a competition?

I used to get very nervous! But over time I've gained confidence and have become more comfortable with being on stage. I like to have just as much, if not more, fun on stage as I do off the stage.

As a singer/songwriter, what inspires you to write and make music?

Anything and everything inspires me, whether it be a personal situation in my life, my friends or just something I see while driving. If I think of a line that I like, I go with it.

Whats on your playlist at the moment?

My current playlist includes: Dolly Parton, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson, Maren Morris, Macerick City Worship, CityAlight, Bethel, Lauren Daigle, Sandra McCracken and the Zac Brown Band.
